The EPS VCT-T2 Surge Protective Device (SPD) is designed to help protect electrical installations and equipment against transient overvoltage and surge events.

Protection Against Surge Events -

Overvoltage and surge events may occur due to:

1. Direct or indirect lightning activity
Lightning can generate high-energy surges that may affect electrical installations and connected equipment.

2. Overvoltage on power lines
Lightning strikes or disturbances on overhead or electrical supply lines may cause transient overvoltage.

3. Electromagnetic coupling
Lightning activity near electrical installations can induce transient overvoltage through electromagnetic coupling.

4. Switching operations
Electrical equipment such as motors and other loads can generate transient overvoltage during switching operations.
